Resumen

To the Editor:
Our group recently had the opportunity to review the article titled "Evaluation of Microneedling with and without Injectable-Platelet Rich Fibrin for Gingival Augmentation in Thin Gingival Phenotype—A Randomized Clinical Trial" by Sidharthan et al., which was recently published. The authors conducted a well-designed short-term clinical trial to compare the efficacy of microneedling (MN) alone versus in combination with injectable platelet-rich fibrin (i-PRF) for increasing gingival thickness in patients with thin tissue biotypes. Given the growing recognition of the importance of modifying periodontal phenotype prior to restorative treatment and for aesthetic purposes, we found this article to be both interesting and timely. Conversely, we wish to raise some methodological considerations regarding blinding, comparison groups, and the conclusions drawn from the study.
