Resumen

This article describes the new version (5.0) of a model for microscopic sumulation of passenger, bus and traffic interaction at bus stops called PASSION. The former version (4.2) was launched in 2001 in the UK and reported elsewhere in previous papers of the same author. Firstly, a description of the modelling process and its differences with respect to an equivalent model (IRENE) is presented. The interface of the program is also shown and compared with the previous version. Next, the new functionalities of the model are described. The validation to represent multi-berth bus stops is reported and results for various passenger demand levels are then shown. As a consequence of this work we postulated that PASSION is now a better tool to represent bus stop operation than other models reported in the literature.
