Resumen
The history of the Catholic Church in Chile has been treated from multiple perspectives, both by ecclesiastical historians and civilians. Equally varied are the themes addressed by those authors, which reflect the cross-cutting nature of the incidence and influence of the Church in different spheres of national life both in the Hispanic period, the process of independence and its Republican life. This article sets out the main contributions that Chilean historiography has provided to the history of the Church in the last fifty years, according to a selection of topics that come to complete the ones submitted in the first part of this work, such as the collection and transcription of ecclesiastical archives, the history of the particular or local churches, the ecclesiastical legal aspects and the cultural and artistic events.
