Resumen
Introduction: Early identification of preinvasive lesions of the cervix is essential and is performed through non-invasive procedures. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of cytology, colposcopy, and microcolpohysteroscopy in the diagnosis of intraepithelial lesions of the uterine cervix. Method: Descriptive, observational, and transversal research was carried out. With a population of 185 patients, through the choice of inclusion and exclusion criteria, the sample was selected intentionally and was represented by 17 patients. The procedures were performed in four phases in order of cytology, colposcopy, microcolpohysteroscopy to observe the characteristics of the cells in vivo, and biopsy. Results: The most frequent age found was between 30 and 39 years in 41.2 %; 88.2 % were of urban origin, 47.1 % were housewives; 35.3 % had had their last cytology performed one year ago; the efficacy of cytology represented a sensitivity of 44.4 %, with a specificity of 100 %, with Fisher’s exact test P > 0.082; colposcopy presented a sensitivity of 100 %, with a specificity of 37.5 %, with Fisher’s exact test P > 0.082. Microcolpohysteroscopy presented a sensitivity of 100 % and specificity of 100 %, with statistical significance P<0.0001. Conclusion: The results demonstrate the efficacy of the four methods that can be used for the diagnosis of pre-invasive lesions of the cervix, maintaining the gold standard.
