Resumen

High-grade acromioclavicular (AC) injuries are common in the active population, and their treatment in the acute setting can minimize late sequelae of chronic pain, functional impairment, and inability to return to sports. Multiple surgical techniques have been described to treat AC joint dislocations, including open or arthroscopic techniques as well as different fixation methods to achieve stable constructs that allow healing of the AC and coracoclavicular (CC) ligaments. Currently, the frequency of treatment of this type of injury with arthroscopic assistance has increased. However, evidence supporting one technique over the other is limited. The objective of this chapter is to describe the arthroscopic assisted reduction and internal fixation of the acute AC dislocations with the use of a double button implant plus high-strength tape.
