Resumen

This article analyzes gender representation in high-rated Ecuadorian morning radio programs, evaluating the degree of parity between men and women invited as sources and interviewees. The study was developed through a six-month monitoring of four news programs from the country's main radio stations. A quantitative-descriptive analysis was applied to the proportion of interviewees according to gender, and possible structural and conjunctural factors influencing the observed inequality were examined. The results show a significant gap in female representation in opinion and radio analysis spaces, which reflects the persistence of gender biases in the Ecuadorian media sphere. The democratic and cultural implications of these results are discussed, and recommendations are proposed to promote communication equity.
