Resumen
This study examines the information practices of Chilean university students ina politically polarizedcontextcharacterizedbymisinformationandinformation fatigue. It focuses primarily on Journalism students who, due to their academic training, should have the necessary tools to confront situations of information disorder. To this end, the relationship between the conceptofinformation credibility andthe fieldofstudy ofChilean university students is analyzedthroughasurvey (n=338). Themain objectiveis to delveinto the study of information behavior and media literacy competencies of university students. The results show that Journalism students do notdisplay a higher levelofcredibility toward the news than students ofother disciplines. Additionally, the participants'politicalidentity and engagement are unrelated to information credibility.
