Treatment of industrial gaseous emissions causing odor nuisance using a series of biotrickling filters

Detalles del proyecto

Descripción

To develop and to characterize a set of BTFs operating in series, for treating a complex mixture of gaseous compounds causing odour nuisance, taking as a model the main components of a gaseous emission from the operation of rendering of a poultry processing plant, that contains mainly ammonia, trimethylamine, 2,5-dimethylpyrazine, hydrogen sulphide, dimethyl disulphide and methanol, inoculating specific microorganisms in each of them, establishing the conditions for favouring the development of biofilms with specific ability for oxidizing families of odorous compounds; VRSCs, VNCs, and VOCs, allowing the complete removal of odour. Characterizing the system by modelling and by using conventional parameters and odour concentration measured by dynamic olfactometry.
