Descripción
Periodontal disease affecting oral tissues and structures including alveolar bone, periodontal ligament, cementum and gingiva, has high prevalence and incidence Worldwide.
Chile is no exception, with alarming statistics regarding missing and lost teeth due to poor periodontal health, especially in underprivileged areas. To benefit from recent advances in the fields of cell therapy and biomaterials, our proposal combines technologies to provide an attractive technique-based and cost-effective strategy for the repair and regeneration of damaged periodontal (soft tissue) structures, with applications far beyond dentistry.
