Abstract
The emblems were very popular in the Golden Age culture. Literature is a good example of this, as can be seen in the Golden Age narrative, which was not immune to this influence. In the case of the work Periquillo el de las gallineras (1668), by Madrid writer Francisco Santos, considered an epigone of the picaresque genre, the relationship with the emblematic is reinforced by the traditional, didactic and satirical-moralizing features that the text presents. This paper studies some emblems present in the novel in the light of these features.
