Abstract
The contribution of emission sources of PAH present in PM2.5 was determined through a positive matrix factorization receptor model and achieve a characterization of these compounds in the city of Temuco, Southern Chile. There were 9 days considered extreme of the Temuco air quality because the PM2.5 exceeded 170 μg/cu m. The PM2.5 daily concentrations were significantly higher than the corresponding EPA air quality standard of 35 μg/cu m during winter. Anthropogenic sources were solved for Temuco, where wood burning and mobile sources were significant sources of PAH in winter season. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 108th AWMA Annual Conference and Exhibition (Raleigh, NC 6/22-25/2015).
