Relations among civil and ecclesiastical authorities in Idolatry Visits, in 17th century Lima. Disputes and oppositions

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In Lima during the 17th century visits took place for the extirpation of idolatry among the indigenous peoples. Although the system was approved by the archbishops and viceroys, the truth is that it received opposition and resistance from several authorities, and these contributed to shape the visits in a particular way.
