Abstract
The phenomena of self-consciousness and self-knowledge play a central role in Kant's philosophy. Their relevance is not restricted to the field of theoretical philosophy, nor to the sphere of a priori knowledge. The analysis of empirical forms of self-knowledge and of practical forms of self-consciousness plays a highly salient role in Kant's project as a whole.
