Abstract

In order to select a rational approach and therapy, it is essential to have an understanding of the anatomy, function, and pathology of the organs involved as well as of the mechanisms of disease. This chapter is useful in order to: (1) acquire a histopathological perspective of otitis media, (2) develop an understanding of the mechanisms of disease without boundaries of specialties, and (3) develop new insights into medical and surgical therapies based on the pathogenesis.
