Abstract
Introduction: central venous stenosis (CVS) is a common complication in hemodialysis patients, particularly in those with implanted electronic devices. Case report: we present the case of a patient with end-stage renal disease and a pacemaker who developed left-sided superior vena cava syndrome (SVCS) after the creation of an ipsilateral arteriovenous fistula. Venography revealed subclavian vein occlusion and innominate vein stenosis associated with the pacemaker leads. Discussion: endovascular treatment was performed with the implantation of a self-expanding venous stent, achieving complete clinical resolution, no complications related to the cardiac device, and effective preservation of the hemodialysis access.
