Abstract
In December of 1991 the German dictator Erich Honecker, avoiding German justice and before the expulsi n from the URSS, went with his wife Margot to the Chilean Embassy in Moscow, staying as a guest until July 1992. More tan a story or a chronological follow-up of the Honecker case , in this paper we intend to mix the story of certain relevant aspects of the situation with a theoretical analysis. Our objective is to demostrate the importance not only of this type of documents, but also of the humor in the historiografic (re) construction. The article analyzes how the cartoons of the Chilean and German press addressed this situation. The objective was to use the images both as a historical source, public opinion and show its use as a political weapon .
