Abstract
The local management of the mastoidectomy cavity in the office is challenging for all otolaryngologists and otologists. The factors that influence how to keep a mastoid cavity dry and how to prevent an unstable cavity are reviewed. In addition, an overall approach to the management of a mastoid cavity and the most common topical treatments for persistent local infection are discussed.
