Abstract
The paper summarizes Wolff's irenic reading of Aristotle's Metaphysics book Z, which aims at harmonizing the two prima facie disjointed tenets of the Book: the search for an ultimate ground or hypokéimenon, and the quest for the essence of concrete sensible particulars.
