Abstract

This first chapter presents the main line of argumentation that is going to be followed in the book for the defence of an ontology of Platonic universals and their instantiations. Several important concepts and theses for that argumentation are introduced, like ‘property’, ‘universal’, ‘trope’, ‘possible world’, ‘grounding’, ‘dependence’, ‘intrinsic/extrinsic property’, ‘mereological sum’ and ‘abstract/concrete’.
