Its causes are multiple and, during the last years, new biochemical and molecular techniques have been developed that allow an early etiologic diagnosis. Method: Analysis of the elements that participate on internal and external genitalia differentiation, the hormonal - chromosomic- imaging exams that guide to the etiologic diagnosis and the treatment that allows an adequate sex designation. It emphasizes the importance of an early diagnosis during the neonatal period, its study in the first months of life and sex designation once performed the correct studies and treatments.
