Abstract
One of the protagonists of the exponential growth of arbitration, without detracting from the work of arbitrators and parties, corresponds to the arbitral institutions created throughout the world. Each of them has its own rules of constitution and operation. Although its main function is to administer arbitration proceedings, they fulfill other tasks -not less important- such as advising the interest groups on the alternative disputes resolutions methods, as well as dissemination of knowledge and arbitration practice to the national and international legal community. The challenge of these institutions consists, on the one hand, in an efficient administration of the arbitral proceedings, incorporating more technological tools; and, on the other hand, in the assessment of arbitral confidentiality versus the transparency so required in these times.
