Professional Information

I earned my Bachelor's degrees in Literature and Philosophy at the University of Los Andes, specializing in the Ancient World and in Philosophical Psychology, particularly the philosophy of emotions. Subsequently, I completed a Master's degree at the Abat Oliba University in Barcelona, where I studied the regulation of passions in the psychological thought of Thomas Aquinas.

I then enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Philosophy at the University of Los Andes, where I am currently researching the concept of the passions of the soul in Cicero's Tusculan Disputations. At the same university, I teach Latin and Ancient Greek Literature for the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities.

Research interests

I am interested in studying the literary production of ancient Greece and Rome, especially tragic and lyric poetry. In the philosophical field, I am interested in exploring how ancient and medieval authors understood human psychology and, in particular, emotions. Additionally, I am interested in the work of Saint John of the Cross and Christian mysticism in general.

Teaching

I began teaching at the School of Psychology at Universidad Finis Terrae, where I taught courses in "Ethics" "Human Affectivity," and "Psychopathology and Moral Evil." Later, I taught "Philosophical Anthropology" for the general curriculum at Universidad San Sebastián and Universidad de los Andes. At the latter, I also started teaching "Latin" and the elective course "Great Books." Currently, I continue teaching the courses "Latin" (I, II, III, and IV) and "Ancient Greek Literature" for the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities.
