Research Interests
His research area corresponds to heterogeneous catalysis, in which he carries out the synthesis of solid catalysts, their study in different applied chemical reactions of practical interest and their subsequent characterization by means of physical and spectroscopic techniques. He is currently investigating the catalytic conversion of gaseous pollutants to inert compounds. Among them, the absorption and reduction of nitric oxide using copper-based absorbents and the elimination of polluting compounds from the combustion of wood. Other areas of interest involve the partial or selective oxidation of compounds towards other chemicals of higher value, the absorption of CO2 and its subsequent activation, the catalytic production of biodiesel, among others.
