Dental Surgeon, graduated from the University of Chile in 1996, Specialist in Orthodontics and Master of Science from the University of Toronto, Canada in 2002.

He has dedicated himself to the development of the orthodontic clinic at the private level, being Senior Partner of the Orthodontic Clinic C Richard Ltda., serving in several positions of the Orthodontic Society of Chile, in its Board, Scientific Commission and as the editor in chief of the Chilean Journal of Orthodontics between 2009 and 2018. For the last 10 years, he has been a member of the Orthodontic Commission of CONACEO.

At the university level, he is Director of the Specialization Program in Orthodontics at the Universidad de los Andes, playing an academic role with emphasis on teaching and research, as well as the development of interdisciplinary teams.

His association with the Universidad de los Andes has been extended since 2003, when he took on various roles in the Faculty of Dentistry. 

During his academic career, he has developed several lines of research, contributing to the knowledge of skeletal anchorage in orthodontics, artificial intelligence, growth and development, and adhesion in orthodontics, among others.
