Professional Information
Dr. Rodrigo Guzmán Venegas holds a degree in Kinesiology from the Universidad Católica del Maule, Chile. He earned a Master's degree in Medical Biophysics from the Universidad de Chile and a PhD in Sports Sciences from Universidad Pablo de Olavide, Spain.
He currently serves as a professor of Biophysics and Biomechanics at the Faculty of Medicine, Universidad de los Andes, where he is also the principal investigator at the Integrative Laboratory of Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology (LIBFE). His career is characterized by the integration of teaching, research, and clinical application.
Research interests
His research lines include signal processing applied to health sciences, biomechanics, human movement analysis, and applied neuromuscular physiology.
He leads FONDECYT-funded projects, including clinical trials aimed at improving the understanding of neuromuscular control and human movement biomechanics. His work combines advanced methodologies to study muscle function and the nervous system.
His focus is especially on movement analysis and effort physiology.
Teaching
He teaches courses in biophysics and biomechanics at both undergraduate and graduate levels at Universidad de los Andes.
He also actively participates in postgraduate diploma programs related to physiology and movement sciences. His pedagogical approach integrates theory and practice, fostering the development of analytical and technical skills in his students.
His dedication to professional training is also evident in his supervision of theses and student research projects.
