Pedro Iacobelli is a historian of trans-regional connections between Latin America and Asia-Pacific whose research primarily focuses on the cultural and political dimensions of migration, economic exchange, and diplomacy during the 20th century. In addition, he has a scholarly interest in contemporary Migration, Pacific Studies, and Japanese cinema. Dr. Iacobelli is the chair of the Institute of History, at Universidad de los Andes, Chile, and serves in Chile´s National Agency for Research and Development (ANID) as member of the official evaluation body on History.
