Personal profile

Professional Information

She earned her medical degree from Universidad de los Andes in 2012 and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same institution in 2016. Since then, she has been a faculty member at the School of Medicine, while also working in obstetric emergencies and maternity care.

She has worked clinically at San Bernardo Parochial Hospital and Clínica Universidad de los Andes in maternity services. In addition, she actively participates in research projects focused on the prediction of pregnancy-related conditions and maternal-fetal health.

Research interests

She co‑leads and contributes to research projects on gestational diabetes, utilizing multiparametric models based on maternal plasma biomarkers for early first‑trimester prediction. She has also co‑investigated preeclampsia, particularly using placental exosome profiling as early biomarkers.

In addition, she has contributed to studies on first‑trimester spontaneous abortion, identifying tissue‑type plasminogen activator levels as potential predictors. Her research bridges clinical obstetric datasets with molecular and statistical analyses in maternal‑fetal health.

Teaching

At the UANDES Faculty of Medicine, she teaches undergraduate courses in Obstetrics and Gynecology and contributes to the clinical internship. As an Instructor Professor, she blends teaching with active clinical practice to support integrated medical training.

She also provides clinical mentorship to interns and residents in maternity service, grounding her teaching in up‑to‑date obstetric research insights.
