Additional Research Interests

My research interest has been focused on the study of the regenerative and immunosuppresive abilites of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). Particularly in the last few years I have been studying the interaction of MSCs with cellls from the immune system particularly with pro-inflammatory Thelper 1 and Thelper17 lymphocytes.

Currently our research team is dedicated to evaluating the role of metabolism in the immunosuppressive and regenerative properties of MSCs and their extracellular derivatives including small microvesicles enriched in exosomes using murine models of diseases such as osteoarthritis, graft versus host disease, arthritis induced by collagen.
