Professional Information
Dr. Óscar Florencio Araneda Valenzuela is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of Universidad de los Andes (Chile), where he teaches in the School of Kinesiology and conducts research at the Integrative Laboratory of Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. He earned his MD from the University of Chile (2001) and completed his PhD in Exercise Science at the University of Córdoba, Spain, in 2012.
Research interests
My main research topic deals with oxidative damage and lung inflammation that humans exposed to different environmental conditions (low humidity, heat, altitude, cold, polluted air) present when they perform physical exercise measured by non-invasive methods. Secondarily I work in Environmental Toxicology and History of Medicine.
Teaching
At Universidad de los Andes, Dr. Araneda teaches courses in Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Exercise Physiology.
