Professional Information
I am an M.D. from Universidad de los Andes, psychiatrist from Universidad de Chile, Master in Biomedical Sciences from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and a Fellow in Mood Disorders from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. I am currently an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Universidad de los Andes School of Medicine, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, and Head of the Mental Health Service at Clínica Universidad de los Andes.
Additional Research Interests
My areas of interest are: mood disorders, bipolar disorder, biomarkers and genomics. I have research experience in bipolar disorder and cardiovascular disease and biomarkers in mood disorders. I have received funding from CONICYT (FONDECYT regular project 1181365 and FONDEF ID19I10116). I have been awarded the following recognitions: Travel Award for the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics (2014), Finalist for the best poster / oral presentation award of the World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics (2014), Career Development Institute for Bipolar Disorders Fellowship, University of Pittsburgh, National Institute of Mental Health, USA (2012).
