Professional Information

She is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Universidad de los Andes. She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Universidad Austral de Chile and an MSc in Public Health with a specialization in Biostatistics from the University of Chile.

Her academic and professional background integrates the use of epidemiological and statistical tools to address key research questions in health. She served as Chief of Staff at the National Institute of Public Health and worked for six years in the field of cancer, contributing to studies on surveillance and health policy.

She is part of the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology at Universidad de los Andes and serves on the Scientific Health Research Committee. Her current focus includes school mental health, particularly issues related to bullying and associated psychosocial factors.

Research interests

Her research interests include the development and use of epidemiological and statistical tools in public health. She has co-led studies on adolescent substance use prevention, including the cultural adaptation of the “Mi Mejor Plan” program for Chile.

She is currently working on school mental health, with a focus on bullying and psychosocial risk factors among adolescents. She is also involved in research on the exposome framework and national health surveillance systems.

Teaching

Teaches epidemiology and biostatistics at both undergraduate and graduate levels in the UANDES Faculty of Medicine. She also contributes to postgraduate courses and diplomas in biostatistics and evidence-based practice.

She mentors graduate students and supervises theses, actively guiding research projects in applied methodologies and statistical analysis.
