Professional Information
Professor Vial is a faculty member at the Faculty of Law, Universidad de los Andes, where she teaches Private International Law and Research Seminar courses.
She also forms part of the academic staff of the university’s Diploma in Family Law program.
In December 2023, she was elected to the Governing Council of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) for the 2024–2028 term. This marks the first time Chile has been represented on this council.
Research interests
Her main research interests include:
- Party autonomy in Private International Law
- International contracts and their regulation in Latin America
- Matrimonial property regimes within Chilean Private International Law
- Sustainability as a general principle in transnational commercial law
