BSN, MSc Educational Psychology, Diploma in Management of Higher Education Institutions. Early in my professional career, I worked as a nurse in an Intensive Care Unit in a Pediatric Hospital. I then joined the Nursing School at Universidad de los Andes as a faculty member to teach in the Pediatric course. In 2010, I was appointed as Director of the School of Nursing and then Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery (to current). I have actively participated in the Chilean Association of Nursing Education and in the Technical Group Developing Competence of Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) in Latin-American Countries. I have lead the development of the first APN master program in our country and been invited to deliver presentations about our experience at international meetings. I have been involved actively in the development of APN role, especially for cancer and primary health care in Chile. I am also a Senior Research Fellow of the Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Research from University of Pennsylvania and leading the research team for the Project RN4CAST-Chile. This project seeks to establish the impact of the nursing workforce in patient outcomes.
