Professional Information

Karin Alejandra Roa Tampe holds a PhD in Sociology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a Master’s in Organizational Governance from Universidad de Navarra (Spain), a Master’s in Psychology, and a degree in Psychology (BA) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

She is currently a full-time Assistant Professor in the School of Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Universidad de los Andes. She teaches courses including Teacher Professional Development I & II, Disciplinary Research Seminar – Language, and Thesis Seminar.

Research interests

Her research focuses on teacher professional development, particularly exploring how teacher evaluation systems influence teachers’ occupational identity, career trajectories, and professional recognition.

She has also studied the factors that enable or hinder peer collaboration among educators, demonstrating that collaboration depends not only on individual attitudes but also on organizational design, pedagogical leadership, and professional culture in schools.

Teaching
