Professional Information

Rodrigo Cordero Cortés holds a PhD and a Master´s degree in Literary Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid. His academic training also includes a BA in Hispanic Literature and Linguistic and a BA in Philosophy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

 

Research interests

He has published articles in various specialized journals both in Chile and abroad and freely translates from French and English. In 2018, he published the Spanish translation of Michel Butor´s book Las palabras en la pintura (University Alberto Hurtado Publishing House); in 2023, the book Evidentia: Escritura y visualidad en Francis Ponge (RIL Publishing House); and in 2025, as coordinator, he co-authored the double issue of Insula, Revista de Letras y Ciencias Humanas, titled Cartografías de la literatura en Chile.

Teaching

He currently works as a research professor at the Institute of Literature of the Los Andes University (Chile), where he teaches Modern and Contemporary Poetry and Literary Theory. He also teaches Writing and Image as a visiting professor for the Master´s Program in Image Studies at the Alberto Hurtado University (Chile). He is currently the Principal Investigator for the Fondecyt Initiation 2024-2026 Project N°11241261, titled "Intensidades afectivas en torno a la indignación en el espacio biográfico de Armando Uribe Arce (1933-2020)".
