He did his BSc in Electrical Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2004) and works at the Universidad de los Andes since 2004. José is PhD in Electrical Engineering, Universidad de Chile (2013). He was a Visiting Lecturer at University College London, UK (2015). He has been part of the board of the Chilean chapter of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) several times.
