Professional Information
José Antonio has a degree in Philosophy from the Universidad de Los Andes, Chile (2008) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, Germany (2014). Between 2015 and 2017 he worked at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile as a Postdoctoral Researcher (supported by Fondecyt) with a research project on the moral psychology of Plato's Laws. Since 2018 he has been an assistant professor at the Universidad de Los Andes, Chile. His areas of interest are Ancient Philosophy, especially Plato's Practical Philosophy, Ethics, and Hermeneutics. He is currently working on a research project on the epistemic and practical aspects of Plato’s views on emotions in his middle and late dialogues (supported by Fondecyt).
