Professional Information

Javier Ignacio Pinto-Garay is an Associate Professor at Universidad de los Andes (Chile), in the Faculty of Economics and Business. He holds a B.A. (Licenciatura) in Philosophy from Universidad de los Andes, an M.Sc. in Strategic Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Universidad de Navarra (Spain). He currently serves as President of the Chilean Business and Organisational Ethics Association and is an affiliated researcher at the Centre for Business Ethics of ESE. His academic output includes numerous journal articles, book chapters and monographs in the fields of business ethics, work theory, and human resource management.

Research interests

Javier Pinto-Garay’s research interests lie in business ethics (including corporate and professional ethics), work theory (the nature, meaning and dignity of work in organizational contexts) and virtue ethics applied to business and human resource management.

Teaching

In his teaching role, Javier Pinto-Garay instructs courses related to business ethics, philosophy of work, human resource management and professional ethics.
