She holds a PhD in History from Universidad de los Andes (2023), where she also completed two Master's degrees: a Master's in History and a Master's in History and Cultural Heritage Management. Her doctoral research examined U.S. projection toward the South American subsystem of the South Pacific in the second half of the nineteenth century (1860–1892), articulating foreign relations, commerce, nationalism, and geopolitical imaginaries. She completed a doctoral residency at Georgetown University (2015–2016), during which she conducted research at NARA. She has participated in international research projects, including TRANSOCEANICA (Ecos-Sud, 2022–2023), and is a co-investigator in Fondecyt Regular Project No. 1240061 ("Exchange and Mobility between Southern America and Southeastern Polynesia, 1848–1871"), led by Dr. Pedro Iacobelli. Since March 2026, she is a faculty researcher at the Instituto de Historia, Universidad de los Andes.
Her research focuses on the history of U.S.–Latin America relations from a transnational and connected perspective, with particular attention to the South Pacific subsystem. Her work examines how the United States projected commercial, diplomatic, and geopolitical influence toward South America between 1860 and 1922, tracing the roles of private networks, transport infrastructure, and international expositions alongside formal diplomacy. She engages with debates in the history of U.S. foreign policy, transnational history, and the history of the Pacific world. She is also interested in historical memory, the history of international expositions as sites of imperial discourse, and the historiography of U.S.–Latin American relations.
She has taught U.S. History at the undergraduate level in the Bachelor's degree at Universidad de los Andes since 2016, covering precisely the period and problems addressed by her research. She has directed historical research methodology courses since 2014 and supervises undergraduate theses since 2025. At the postgraduate level, she taught the Seminar in Modern and Contemporary History in the Master's in Political Studies at Universidad de los Andes (2021–2023). Since 2025, she teaches comparative history of the Americas in English for The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) Santiago Program. She was also invited as lead instructor for the seminar on pedagogical strategies in the digital age at the Diploma in University Teaching, Universidad de Montevideo (2024).
