Additional Research Interests
My principal research topic is the propagation of laser beams through atmospheric turbulence. In the theoretical area I work on the development of new models for laser propagation in turbulent media, correlated phase masks and turbulence fractal characteristics. Nevertheless, I consider myself an experimental scientist for the most part. In this subject I have significant experience in building compex optomechanical setups and alignment at the laboratory (short propagation) and outdoors through the campus. I also have experience with vortex and singular beams. This covers the use of vortexes propagated through random media to measure crosstalk and topological charge calculation. Recently I started to work on the application of singular beams in free space optical communications.
