Professional Information
I have had the opportunity to be a full professor of dentistry at the Universidad de Los Andes, Universidad Mayor and Universidad de Chile, always teaching in the field of Oral Rehabilitation.
I have participated as co-investigator in research projects in the areas of Oral Rehabilitation, Maxillofacial Imaging, Cariology and Education.
In the administrative field, I have participated as former Dean of Dentistry and former Academic Vice-Rector of the Universidad Mayor.
I have had the opportunity to be a teacher of direct tuition of students of 4th - 5th year, Diploma, Master, Doctorate and Postgraduate.
Teaching
At the Universidad de Los Andes I have lectured, supervised students and participated as a thesis supervisor in the areas of oral rehabilitation and temporomandibular joint disorders.
I have also been a principal investigator in projects in the areas of Oral Rehabilitation, Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Education in Cariology.
I have been a member of the academic evaluation committee.
Research interests
My primary research interests are in the field of restorative dentistry, with a particular focus on the longevity and repair of defective restorations, tooth whitening to reduce unwanted biological effects, maxillofacial imaging, with an emphasis on the study of articular lesions in patients affected by temporomandibular joint disorders, and dental education in cariology.
