I began my professional career linked to teaching since I graduated from university, as an assistant in oral rehabilitation, always interested in continuous improvement in this area, where I marked different improvement courses both in my own technical area of rehabilitation and in teacher training to teach it in the best possible way.
I have developed my private clinical practice always hand in hand with teaching, which has allowed me to develop new techniques and test many materials, over time and as a result of my work in the area I have been linked as an opinion leader to companies that develop dental products, becoming a national and international reference for certain techniques that I currently teach in continuing education programs at the university.
One of my great areas of professional development has been digital dentistry and its applications, where I am also an opinion leader with an international track record. I currently participate a lot in activities such as conferences and courses at a national and international level, showing the work that I develop both at the University and in my private clinic.
I started fourteen years ago as an undergraduate teacher in oral rehabilitation, and then also worked in preclinical and dental simulation. During these years I have focused on teaching by example my area of clinical mastery, perfecting myself in teaching methodologies and teacher training. I have held different coordination and management positions in the area.
Currently I am an associate professor and director of the department of comprehensive craniofacial rehabilitation, I teach theoretical and practical classes in undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education subjects. I have directed more than 40 thesis works, many of which have become scientific publications in prestigious international journals.
One of my greatest achievements as a teacher was implementing the digital dentistry project in the faculty, which allowed us to be the first university in Latin America with this technology and today a reference for many national and international universities that have followed our example.
I am mainly interested in topics that solve real clinical problems or that allow me to improve the way I teach clinical techniques or procedures to my students, all this always at the forefront of technology and hand in hand with the latest developments in the industry.
That is why my lines of research are directly related to digital dentistry and all its applications in oral rehabilitation, such as in ceramics, color, 3D printing resins, among other things.
I base my work on theses together with undergraduate students, which I always try to finish as a scientific publication.
