    Personal profile

    Professional Information

Kinesiologist graduated from Universidad Austral de Chile and holds a Master's degree in Epidemiology from Universidad de los Andes. He currently serves as a faculty member and researcher at the School of Kinesiology at Universidad de los Andes, being part of the Integrative Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology Laboratory (LIBFE).

His academic work focuses on teaching biomechanics and movement physiology, areas in which he has supervised various undergraduate theses. Additionally, he maintains an active scientific output, with publications in specialized journals addressing topics such as gait analysis, electromyography, and biomechanics of the ankle and foot.

    Research interests

His research focuses on the study of human movement, with a special emphasis on kinematics, kinetics, and electromyography during functional activities such as walking and running.

His work also includes ex vivo studies analyzing the mechanical properties of tissues or specific segments of the human body, particularly focusing on the biomechanics of the ankle and foot.

Currently, he leads the project "Characterization of foot health and its musculoskeletal alterations in the adult Chilean population," funded by FONIS. This project aims to identify and understand the main ankle and foot disorders in the adult population of Santiago, Chile, thereby contributing to the development of strategies to improve musculoskeletal health in this area.

    Teaching

He teaches courses related to biomechanics and movement physiology at the School of Kinesiology at Universidad de los Andes.

He has supervised various undergraduate theses focused on topics such as gait analysis, electromyography, and biomechanics of the ankle and foot.

His teaching approach integrates theory with practice, encouraging students to develop a deep understanding of biomechanical principles applied to human movement.
