Dental surgeon trained at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. At the same institution I completed my master’s degree and doctorate program in Epidemiology. I have worked in teaching and research for almost 10 years.

My research areas are related to the impact of oral diseases in the population.

I have worked in primary health care, in the Ministry of Health of Chile, in CDC programs, WHO, FDI and IADR projects, among other organizations. I am currently president of the Chilean Society of Oral Public Health. I am currently director of the master’s program in Oral Public Health at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universidad de los Andes.

I have been an academic for almost 10 years, in Public Health and Epidemiology, in two universities, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and in the School of Dentistry of Universidad de los Andes. I have given courses and conferences in other national and international universities.

I am currently in charge of courses in Public Health and Epidemiology. I am also the director of the master’s program in Oral Public Health at the School of Dentistry of the Universidad de los Andes. I am also a member of the faculty of the Doctorate in Dental Sciences at the same university.

My research is about the oral health status of children and adult population in Chile and the world, epidemiology of the main oral diseases and their impact on the population.

In addition, I conduct studies related to the association of oral diseases with depression, multimorbidity, sleep disturbances, quality of life and other conditions. In addition, I have conducted studies on education in dentistry.
