Professional Information
David Kimber-Camussetti is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the School of Business and Economics of Universidad de los Andes, Chile. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Navarra (Spain), awarded with distinction Cum Laude. He also earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, along with an MBA and an M.Sc. in Management. Prior to his academic career (which began in 2001), he worked as a Market Research Manager in a yellow-pages company and as a Product Manager in a bank in Chile. His professional focus includes marketing intelligence, marketing modelling and applied econometrics for business decisions.
Research interests
His research interests include international sales, marketing management, new media and consumer behaviour, as well as media quality, communication and advertising. He is currently leading projects that examine the relationship between perceived content quality and consumer engagement in the streaming industry, and also smartphone use among minors in Chile. His research portfolio also covers topics such as gender bias, cultural intelligence, social-media marketing, international sales, media reputation and consumer behaviour in media.
Teaching
In his teaching role, Kimber-Camussetti delivers courses on Marketing, Media Management, Marketing Intelligence, Applied Econometrics for Marketing, Segmentation and Positioning, among others, at the School of Business and Economics of Universidad de los Andes. He is also involved in postgraduate programs (Diplomas and Master’s) focusing on digital business strategy and customer experience.
