Personal profile
Professional Information
I'm a sociologist with a degree in Political Science and Sociology, and a MA in Sociology from the Pontificia Universidad Católica. I also hold a diploma in Contemporary Political History from the Universidad de Chile. I have worked in both the private and public sectors, and throughout my academic career I have served as a research and teaching assistant on numerous occasions. My work has been published in various academic and general-interest journals, both national and international, and I regularly participate in public forums analyzing current political affairs. In 2025, I published the book Historia de la FEUC. Su trayectoria e influencia en Chile, 1938-2025, published by Ediciones UC.
Research interests
My current research interests lie at the intersections of sociology, political science, and history, particularly regarding civil society, social movements, and political institutions in Chile and Latin America. I am interested in the links between politics and society, their historical trajectory, and their concrete expression in different spaces of organization and participation. I have recently conducted research on labor and student movements in Latin America, as well as broader questions related to the study of civil society.
Teaching
I have served as a teaching assistant on numerous occasions, both at the Pontificia Universidad Católica and at the Universidad de Chile. This semester I am teaching my first course as a lecturer at UANDES (Philosophy and Methodology of the Social Sciences), for students in the Political Studies MA program.
