Research interests

Her work focuses on domestic life, kinship, and residence, examining how people organize and experience life at home. She mainly uses qualitative methods, especially ethnography and phenomenological approaches, to understand daily life experiences related to housing.

She has researched topics such as household daily economies, self-built housing, intergenerational co-residence, and changes in urban neighborhoods. She has also explored the relationship between family life patterns, religious beliefs, and social participation.

Currently, she is leading a project that analyzes how young adults from lower-middle-class backgrounds in Santiago build and sustain domestic life in different neighborhood settings, and how family and community networks influence their residential decisions.
