Professional Information

Journalist and Ph.D. in Communication from the University of the Andes, where she also earned an Academic Master’s in Communication. She complemented her education with an MBA from the ESE Business School. Her career combines academic experience and institutional management within the university environment and in civil society organizations.

She is a professor and researcher specializing in organizational communication, strategic listening, internal communication, and digital media, with publications in leading international academic journals.
Since 2020, she has served as Academic Vice Dean of the Faculty of Communication at the University of the Andes, where she has held various leadership positions since 2006.

She has participated in numerous international conferences across Latin America and Europe and is an active member of academic networks such as RedLaco and INCOMIN, as well as part of The Thought Leadership Circle of the ICRH, focused on advancing global research in internal communication.

Her work seeks to understand how organizations develop communicative practices that foster participation, dialogue, and internal cohesion, exploring communication not merely as the transmission of messages but as a relational and ethical process that shapes culture and meaning.

Throughout her career, she has delved into topics related to internal communication, organizational behavior, and the relationship between communication and corporate reputation, offering an innovative perspective on the Latin American context. In recent years, her research has also examined the impact of digital transformation and the use of social media in third-sector organizations, analyzing how these platforms enhance civic participation and strengthen the connection between institutions and their audiences.

Teaching

She has developed a distinguished career in university teaching at the Faculty of Communication of the University of the Andes, where she has served as a professor since 1999. Her teaching work has focused on the comprehensive education of communicators, combining a solid theoretical foundation with a practical and applied approach to the contemporary professional context. She has taught courses such as Research Seminar, Strategic Communication, Economic Journalism, Introduction to Economics, New Trends in Communication, and Public Policy, among others, making a significant contribution to the academic and ethical formation of multiple generations of journalists and communicators.
Her pedagogical approach emphasizes critical thinking, applied research, and the connection between communication, management, and organizational purpose.
