Professional Information

Carolina Melo is Doctor in Education by the University of Virginia, Master of Arts in Educational Psychology by the University of Arizona, and an Elementary school Teacher by Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Dr Melo is currently an assistant professor at Universidad de los Andes, and works as an education consultant for the World Bank. She also serves as a member in the Advisory Counsel for the Ministry of Education to ensure quality in early childhood education (Consejo para el aseguramiento de la calidad en la educación parvularia CACEP). She has worked as Director of Graduate studies at the School of Education at Universidad de los Andes, and as consultant for non-profit organizations and for different countries in the design of curriculum, and measurement of classroom quality. Her research focuses on the measurement and improvement of teacher-child interactions in Early Childhood Education, and its relations with children early literacy skills and self-regulation.
