Carmina Asunción Gillmore Valenzuela, Magíster

Carmina Gillmore Valenzuela holds a Journalism degree from Universidad Gabriela Mistral, a Master’s in Family and Mediation, and a postgraduate diploma in Family Orientation and Mediation, both from Universidad de los Andes. She also holds a Diploma in Educational Psychology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. This interdisciplinary background has allowed her to integrate communication, psychology, and family studies into a comprehensive professional approach.

She currently serves as Director of the Master’s in Family – specialization in Family Mediation and Coaching at the Institute of Family Sciences, Universidad de los Andes, where she oversees academic management, curriculum design, and faculty coordination. Her experience spans university teaching and professional training, positioning her as a leading figure in family mediation and coaching.

Her academic work focuses on family mediation, systemic coaching, and strengthening family relationships through communicative and educational tools. She promotes person-centered approaches that emphasize empathy, active listening, and emotional validation, applying mediation in family, educational, and community contexts.

She also leads projects connecting mediation and coaching with education, exploring their role in conflict prevention, socioemotional development, and the improvement of school and community relationships, always from an interdisciplinary perspective.

In her teaching role, she blends theory and practice in postgraduate courses on mediation and family coaching, providing students with immediately applicable tools for their professional work. She designs and coordinates training programs that encourage peaceful conflict resolution and positive leadership.

She also participates in workshops, seminars, and continuing education programs for professionals in various fields, tailoring her content to real-world needs and fostering collaborative, human-centered learning.
